Hey Ms. B! That's so easy; it's Samuel De Chmaplain ( The guy who explored and mapped what is now Lake Champlain[home to Champie the sea monster], the St. Larwence River and vicinty, along w/ founding the 2nd largest French speakinf city in the world, Montreal. He is not to be confused w/ Jacceques Cartier who founded Quebec city. Both men helped France forge it's Native American Allies, ecspecially the Alonquins and Hurons). His picture gives it away.
I apologize for misspelled words and such and I hope to write a more fulfilling answer tomorrow.
