Charlotte Corday pulled the knife from her scarf and plunged it into Jean-Paul Marat's chest, piercing his lung, aorta and left ventricle. He called out, Aidez, ma chère amie! ("Help me, my dear friend!") and died.

And the assasin is, Charlotte Corday, who killed Jean-Paul Marat on July 13th 1793. She was then guillotined on July 17th 1793, when she said "I killed one man to save 100,000".

Jean-paul Marat was a well known politician in the French Revolution. Jean-paul was the eldest child of Jean-paul Marat, a native of Cagliari,Sardinia, and Louise Cabrol. He had a brother named Henri Marat and a sister named Albertine Marat. He married Simonne Evrad and they had a son named David Marat. He is a Swiss-born French physician, philosopher, political theorist and scientist. But he was best known as a radical journalist. Sadly, his life came to an end when he was stabbed to death in his bathtub by Charlotte Carday on July 13,1793

Bonjour! It's Alexandre McLaughlin again :). My answer to today's Trivia is Charlotte Corday. Marat was born May 24, 1743, and died at the age of Fifty on July 13, 1793. He was a swiss-born man in Boudry, Neuchâtel, Switzerland and was a French physician, but was also philosopher, a political theorist, and was a radical journalist and a politician during the French Revolution. Specifically, on July 13, 1793, Charlotte Corday, stabbed Marat to death in his bathtub with a knife that we think she bought a few hours earlier before the incident (to make a nice, clean, fresh murder). At the time of his death, Marat cried out, "À moi, ma chère amie!" (Help me, my dear friend!), and then died.

Marie-Anne Charlotte de Corday d'Armont was born July 27, 1768, in Saint-Saturnin-des-Ligneries, part of today's commune of Écorches in the Orne département, Normandy, France, and died July 17, 1793 (exactly four days after the murder of Jean-Paul Marat and her trial) to "the all mighty GUILLOTINE:'(!!!. Her final words at her trial were, "I killed one man to save 100,000." She was proved guilty and was sent to the GUILLOTINE!!!. That is my FULL answer to today's trivia.

P.S-I hope I did better than David Terner.....:)

The young woman, Charlotte Corday, then drew a knife, purchased earlier that day at a shop, and stabbed him in the chest. He called out, "À moi, ma chère amie!" ("Help me, my dear friend!"), and died. Ummmm I don't know if the first one went through because the yellow box didn't come up...

The answer put very plainly would be Charlotte Corday. However here is the long and convoluted answer.

On July 13, 1793, a young woman, Charlotte Corday, drew a knife, purchased earlier that day at a shop, and stabbed Jean- Paul Marat in the chest. He called out, "À moi, ma chère amie!", and died. She came from a family that moved in royalist circles – her own two brothers were émigrés who had left to fight with the armies of the exiled princes of France. On July 17, 1793, Corday was executed under the guillotine.
