Field Trip to Le Canard Enchainé, Uptown Kingston.
Friday, May 28th Periods 5,6, 7 - Permission Slips to be distributed on Monday. Cost: $26.00


Includes: Transportation, Three course gourmet lunch. Salad, bread, choice of chicken, fish, or vegetarian selection, dessert (for the past few years it has been a giant slab of chocolate cake.)



Level 1B (8th grade) NYS PROFICIENCY SPEAKING TESTS:
Sign-ups begin on Wednesday, May 5th. Three students per 10th period session.

Level 1B NYS PROFICIENCY EXAM: MONDAY, JUNE 21 8AM


7th grade FINAL EXAM:

to be administered in class on June 8th and 9th. Outline for the Exam is below and will also be handed out in class.



Final Exam Outline: French Level 1A


Oral Pretest: Answer five questions (2 points each) picked at random out of a possible 30 questions asked.

Day 1: Listening.

5 points: CLASSROOM COMMANDS (You will hear 5 classroom commands in French, and must match them with the English equivalent.)


10 points: CLASSROOM OBJECTS (You will hear 10 sentences in French that include a classroom object, you must match the picture of the object you have heard with the statement.)


10 points: FOOD (Same as above.)


10 points: PARTS OF THE BODY (Same as above.)


5 points: TELLING TIME (you will hear 5 times mentioned in French, you must write the time down as a digital display.)


10 points: WEATHER AND SEASONS (You will hear 10 statements in French regarding the weather or seasons. Match the statement to one of 4 pictures representing the four seasons and weather conditions.)

Day 2: Reading/Writing.

5 points: ROOMS OF THE HOUSE (Read 5 sentences in French that include a room of the house. Match to a picture of the room printed on the test.)


5 points: PROFESSIONS (Same as above.)


10 points: CLOTHING (Same as above.)


10 points: MULTIPLE CHOICE (Read 10 questions and carefully and choose the best reply from the three choices.)


10 points: WRITING (Write a paragraph/letter to a French penpal telling them about yourself. You may want to include some of the following:

Your name
Age
Your house
Family
Interests/hobbies
Sports
Likes/Dislikes
Personality
Your nationality (what languages you speak etc, don’t speak, etc.)
