Les enfants n'ont ni passé ni avenir, et, ce qui ne nous arrive guère, ils jouissent du présent.
Jean de LA BRUYÈRE, Les Caractères, De l'hommme, 51
Children have neither a past nor a future and, hardly ever true of us, enjoy the present.

Trivia: This rocky tidal island and commune is located in Normandy, France. This one time monastary was used in the sixth and seventh centuries as an Armorican stronghold of Romano-Breton culture and power, until it was ransacked by the Franks, thus ending the trans-channel culture that had stood since the departure of the Romans in AD 460.

'On ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur.'
We see well only with the heart.
-Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (from le Petit Prince)

“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

Love is when the desire to be desired takes you so badly that you feel you could die of it.
    - anonymous artist below

Trivia :This artist is known along with Cézanne, Van Gogh, and Gauguin as one of the greatest painters of the Post-Impressionist period. In a 2005 auction at Christie's auction house a new record was set when "La blanchisseuse", an early painting of a young laundress, sold for $22.4 million. At the age of 13 this artist fractured his left thigh bone, and at 14, the right. The breaks did not heal properly. Modern physicians attribute this to an unknown genetic disorder, possibly pycnodysostosis. His legs ceased to grow, so that as an adult he was only 1.22 m (4 ft 6 in) tall, having developed an adult-sized torso, while retaining his child-sized legs, which were 0.70 m (27.5 in) long.
